By the decree of Hai Seung Lee, President of the Asian Confederation of Zurkhaneh Sports and Pahlavani Wrestling (AZSC), Pahlavan Abdollah Azizi has been appointed as the President of the Pahlavani Committee of the confederation.
This decree was officially presented to him during the Sanandaj Conference and the Confederation Supporters’ Assembly, held on the occasion of Mid-Sha’ban, with the enthusiastic presence of veterans and Zurkhaneh athletes from across various provinces. The decree was delivered by Amir Reza Iram, a member of the presidium and the Confederation’s Development Director, on behalf of the President of the Asian Confederation.
The ceremony took place in Shaheed Shokoohi Hall in Sanandaj, attended by Mr. Johari, the former president of the National Zurkhaneh Sports Federation, along with a group of prominent national and provincial veterans.
During this event, based on the decision of the Technical Committee, several specialists and distinguished veterans from different provinces were also appointed as new members of the Technical Committee.
It is noteworthy that, according to the decision of the Technical Committee, the year 2025 has been designated by the Asian Confederation as the “Year of Fundamental and Basic Training” for Zurkhaneh Sports and Pahlavani Wrestling in member countries and across Asia. This resolution aims to focus on enhancing coach training, organizing and developing the organizational structure, and strengthening the sport in target countries, particularly through fundamental and scientific education.
The Confederation firmly believes that by implementing educational and advanced training programs, Zurkhaneh Sports and Pahlavani Wrestling can achieve sustainability and expansion at the continental level. This approach will directly contribute to improving the quality of the sport at all levels and securing a brighter future for the next generations in these disciplines.
