Tehran – According to the public relations of the Asian Confederation of Zurkhaneh and Pahlavani Sports (AZSC), a strategic meeting was held yesterday at the Malek Museum in Tehran, focusing on supporting and assisting the development of ancient sports and strengthening quantitative and qualitative activities in the Asian continent.

This important gathering was formed at the invitation and initiative of Amirreza Iram, Treasurer, Board Member and Director of Development of the Confederation in the Asian continent, with the aim of forming a “Supreme Arbitration Council” and utilizing the valuable power and experiences of veterans and experts in this field. The main goal of this action is to break monopolization and compensate for the backwardness of this authentic sport at the international level.

In this important meeting, prominent figures including Mr. Farhad Tolokian, Dr. Ali Dadgar and Mojtaba Johari (former heads of the National Federation of Zorkhana Sports and Wrestling), Hojjatoleslam Valmoslemin Hosseini, Dr. Jafarpour (former secretary of the federation and supreme advisor to the referee), Jahromi (head of the research working group), Hajj Hossein Gharghi (head of the technical committee) and Dr. Farnaz Nayeb Morad (director of international affairs of the confederation) were present.

In the initial meeting, Amirreza Ayrom reviewed the law and the code of chivalry and the rule of law of this national sport and addressed the current situation and stated: “After two decades, this sport has not yet been properly globalized and may reach the level of excellence that is rich in its value within the country.”

He added: “The formation of the Supreme Advisory Council with this combination of experience and management has a great deal to do with proper planning to introduce this sport to the world. Modeling in structuring activities in the Confederation will strengthen and reform the structure of the World Federation.

Following this meeting, the presidents of the Federation also discussed the role and position of Zurkhaneh and Pahlavani sports in domestic global developments and the need for veterans to play a role in the field to promote this sport.

At the end of this meeting, a decision was made that this council would be formed with the presence of other members of the Confederation and that by holding continuous meetings, while diagnosing and taking a realistic look at the past, they would formulate and realize progress and development.
