The Pahlevani Wrestling Team of Iran achieved first place at the seventh edition of the Asian Championship Competitions.

The seventh edition of the Asian Traditional Sports and Pahlevani Wrestling Championships (2025) began on Wednesday at the Al-Ghadir Hall in Urmia and ended today (Friday) with the announcement of the top performers and Iran as the champion.

In this competition, 180 athletes from 17 countries participated, including Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Nepal, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, and again Kazakhstan.

The Pahlevani Wrestling matches took place with all five of our country’s representatives reaching the finals, and Iran secured four gold medals and one silver.

The individual results of the Asian Pahlevani Wrestling Championship are as follows:

– 60 kg weight class: Mahdi Vaisi (Iran) won by technical knockout – Sarina (India)
– 70 kg weight class: Rahman Rahimpour (Iran) won by technical knockout – Iyas (India)
– 80 kg weight class: Abdollah Sheikh-’Iazemi (Iran) won by technical knockout – Edalat Muradbayev (Kyrgyzstan)
– 90 kg weight class: Alireza Sahraei (Iran) won by technical knockout – Okurbaev (Kyrgyzstan)
– 90+ kg weight class: Mostafa Najafi (Iran) won by technical knockout – Muntasser Ahmad Salman (Iraq)
